BACKGROUND: 
     BORN in Minnesota; 2

 from youngest of 5. 

     Moved to Oregon when 3.  
     Started art, musicianship and dancing in 6

 grade. 

     Started as professional musician at 16. 
     Started writing poetry/music when about 23. 
     Started illustrating own books in early 40’s. 
     Married . . . has 10 children. (wish he had more) 
     Retired now; was musician, counselor n’ teacher. 
     Now: Ballroom dance instructor, writer/poet, publisher, illustrator, song 
writer/composer/recording artist, inventor, builder/remodeler, lots of 
hobbies 

and a

 busyman ;0).

CREATIVE WRITING and ART: 
     Rish tries to write many of his works so that there is an “accent” and 
some unusual wording and spelling.  He wants to create more for his 
readers than “just poetry and stories”. . . but rather, he wants to create 
“actors” and “actresses.” Whoever reads his works, as they learn to speak 
the poems in the accented language, they discover the great fun of reading 
aloud and acting as they read; just like Rish does in each soundtrack . . . 
when he reads, he changes voices as he goes . . . all in one take, with 
accents and all!! Children (of all ages . . . 1 to 105) can do the same thing. 
       
RISH’S MUSIC: 
     Rish releases almost everything he writes in his G rated music. From 
way back 20 years ago---when his home recordings were rough-n-tumble 
and not too smooth---to the modern technology of today, he puts it out 
there for you to hear.  All ORIGINAL music, in all styles (children’s and 
adult), when you hear Rish’s CD’s he performs everything…all that you 
hear (except for a few hired guitar leads) is HIM.
